[So, Izuku's day was...well. It was peaceful. He had far more energy than he'd had all week, and he wasn't entirely sure what gave him this much energy.

Was it Kacchan's presence or was it his sleep? Or was it both? Regardless, he'd gone through the day with a spring in his step that he hadn't had before, and a burst of optimism that he hadn't had since before this entire hellish ordeal started.

He wasn't alone.

Maybe that was why.

"Oh, is Katsuki at work right now?" His mother had asked when Izuku came in to see her, not long after he woke up.

"Yeah," Izuku said, sitting by her bedside. "How are you feeling?"

"Much better. Though if you're going to spend quality time with your boyfriend, wait until you go to bed next time, okay?"

Amid Izuku's sputters and stammers and blushing face, Inko only laughed.

"You were right about him, Izuku. He's a good man. Though at least tell Mitsuki in a more direct manner, okay, dear?"

Izuku didn't have the heart to tell her that they didn't really have a title. But that was all right -- they were...definitely something, and he was okay with this. He was happy.

More than happy, which was...strange.

Izuku called the agency not long afterwards, apologizing for not coming to them first, and approving all the shift changes.

And now...he had things he needed to do, between his usual chores and errands throughout the day. Like text all of his friends and apologize for being an absentee little shit for the past week.

And yes, Kacchan, he was, in fact, on the couch "Like a lazy little shit" by the end of the day, sitting on his phone and typing to the group chat he'd made with Ochaco, Iida, and Todoroki when they were still in UA.

Izuku was even smiling.]
