[Tombkeeper AU] [MariYuugi] I am left alone, can someone please save me now?
[They had told them that it was going to be a simple trip to Egypt.
Truth be told, Yuugi had never gone to Egypt before, and was excited to go with his parents and grandfather. He was just a little kid, with the sort of dreams that only little kids have; dreams of adventure.
Dreams of finding new friends.
Oh, Gods, how could it have gone so wrong?
He was just a child.
Just a child, and yet...he was stranded. His parents were gone, taken from him a month before in an accident that left him without a family and him wandering about, trying his best to just survive off of the scraps he got from kindly souls he met on the streets.
All he had left was a box of puzzle pieces, which he refused to give away. They were his family's.
None took him in, of course.
But in the meantime, he learned a bit of Arabic.
He knew how to speak, knew how to navigate with what little he understood. He had to learn it from context clues, and his language was broken and hard to understand, but he...he did know some.
He knew enough.
It was a hot one today, though, borrowed clothes clinging to his skin as he sat in the shade behind one of the many stalls as he tried to get away from the sun.
He closed his eyes and tried to breathe, but Gods, he was thirsty. And tired.
He just wanted to go home.
He just wanted to have a bed again. Somewhere to sleep. Someone to talk to...]
